Thai Railways serving the North East of Thailand

Northeastern Train Lines

Thai Railways Northeastern Lines travel to the more rural, less-touristed area of Thailand's Northeast (Isaan), where sights range from colorful festivals, to the famous Khmer Temples of Phanom Rung. Northeastern Thailand (Isaan) is rich in culture and shares its borders with both Laos and Cambodia. Thai Railways two main Northeastern Lines, branch off from the Main Northeastern Line at Thanon Chira Junction. The Southern Isaan Line goes to Ubon Ratchathani, and the Northern Isaan Line goes to Nong Khai, across the Mekong from the Laos capital of Vientienne. Ban Pachi is the Main Junction where the Main Northeastern Line breaks away from the Northern Line.
